Bennet Bio:
Michael Bennet is known as a pragmatic leader who applies new solutions to old problems. He desires to represent Colorado in the U.S. Senate and will be counted on to have moral obligation and leave this country a better place for his children. He believes that pragmatism is independent and very essential to making Colorado such a good place to live. Michael Bennet is accustomed to leading in difficult times. He served for two years as a Denver Mayor. He has led difficult turnarounds in the private sector. He comes from a family that is committed to service.
Bennet wants to fix Washington. He wants to make the leadership better there.
Securing Our Fiscal Future. He wants his kids to have a good future and by doing that, he wants to make sure that the economy is up.
Protect Jobs and Create Opportunities for Working Families is necessary for helping more families not be homeless. New energy sources will open up more jobs.
Solutions for Small Business will have protection. They won't have a high chance in being undertaken.
Affordable and Quality Heath Care all people have health care. They all deserve the same treatment based on money or not. All patients needs to be treated.
Agriculture- Farm Bill ensuring food conservation.
Economy and Jobs- Bill saving 60,000 jobs. Work-Pay tax cut returning money.
Education- create business leaders- high skilled.
Energy- Colorado, from our utilities and industry to our farmers, is leading the nation in development of the new energy economy. We passed the nation's first Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) by ballot initiative, requiring energy producers to get 10% of their energy from renewable sources, and we have since increased that standard to require 30% by 2020. We took on high standards for reducing carbon emissions. And our investment in the new energy economy has paid off. We have created thousands of new, highly specialized green energy and research and development jobs. Fiscal Responsibility- We should return to Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) budgeting rules. PAYGO is a simple but effective concept: if you propose a new government program, you should also propose a way to pay for it. These budget enforcement rules helped create the surpluses we enjoyed only a decade ago, and we should reinstate them. Health Care- Due to the economic recession, more people have been losing their health insurance and relying on Medicaid to provide coverage. The economic recovery bill that we passed will provide $880 million over the next two years to help Coloradans stay in the Medicaid program and continue getting the critical services they need. Community health centers, the backbone of our nation's health system will also receive new resources. Colorado has over 120 of these clinics. The recently passed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 will provide over $7.5 million dollars to our state's community health centers.
Buck Bio:
Buck is currently the Weld County District Attorney. He got his degree from Princeton University in 1981 and his Juris Doctorate form the University of Wyoming School of Law in 1985. Ken Buck was hired by Dick Cheney to work the Iran-Contra Investigation. He has worked as a prosecutor in D.C. He was a Chief at the Criminal Division.
Facing today’s youth problems. He wants to open up jobs for them and teach them that crime isn't needed. He wants them to have a good future with a job.
Educate the community and citizens about being a community. They way that they will work together and support.
These candidates issues are both Republican.
Creating Jobs- Instead of more government spending and stimulus, I support lowering personal and corporate taxes as a way to spur growth. Instead of more I favor fewer regulations and mandates, so the government gets out of the way of job-creators. And most importantly, I will work to give businesses certainty that the federal government won't impose new taxes and fees that kill jobs. This is the pro-growth agenda Washington needs right now.
Social Security- Younger workers will know that Social Security is there for them as a safety net, but they should also be encouraged to save more through tax-preferred accounts.
On Tax Policy- As the push for higher taxes emerges, I will be the Colorado Senator pushing to downsize government, not raise taxes. I'll stay true to the Taxpayer Protection Pledge I have signed.
Energy Independence- For now, we must continue to depend on our traditional sources of energy -- coal, oil and especially natural gas. It means we must aggressively expand energy production in our country, including stepping up drilling and looking to nuclear power as one of our best sources for non-carbon energy.

The candidates are both facing question from the people. Their meetings will be about past jobs and they will both be attacking each other. A democratic group began to put out ads about Buck for a reprimand that he received over a decade ago when he was a federal prosecutor. One group allied with the GOP having an ad that blasts Bennet for his oversight of a fund in the Denver Public Schools where Bennet use to superintend. These attacks were used on both of the candidates in primary contests. This is the first time previous jobs have been brought up in the debates.

Republican appear to be getting close to a senate pick-up in the swing for Colorado. Buck; the republican nominee leads appointed Democratic incumbent Bennet by 8 points of likely voters. 50 to 42 percent according to a new poll. Many voters still remain undecided while some are backing up someone else. This is a tight race as more voters register. Bennet has a one point lead. Bennet lasted in a spirited Democrat primary challenge from Romanoff. The polls are showing that one by a few 3-4 points these races are off.

Some Republican people say that Buck is conservative who points out his beliefs that are not popular. Everyone has a different interpretation of buck and his views. The Democrats think that buck is too conservative for the state of Colorado. He opposes abortion in cases of incest and rape. Buck isn't sympathetic for his stands and says that as a senator, he will focus on federal spending. Polls show that Buck unseats Bennet and the control of the Senate is at stake. Their campaigns are made up of mostly their family. The families tone is a worry for Bennet.
The winner of the Colorado State Senate is Democrat Michael Bennet.
Michael Bennet won because:
1. Colorado is a Democratic State for the Senate
2. He has Obama's help with the majority voters
3. More people voted for him
4. He had many better ways to bring up to economy than Buck
